Update, and Items Needed

Feb 10, 2011 by April
A lot has happened in the last couple of weeks. On January 27th, the Rockford Register Star ran an article on us: Ex-cancer patient creates chemotherapy care packages.  Volunteers furiously sewed totes. Walgreens generously donated enough supplies to fill almost 30 tote bags, and we made our first delivery to SwedishAmerican's Oncology Center on Monday, February 7th.

I've had many people ask what we need now. Here's an updated list:
  • snack-size munchies
  • bottles of water
  • packages of mints or gum
  • sunscreen - sample size
  • dry mouth products - sample size
  • dye and fragrance free lotion - sample size is good
Additionally, we could use volunteers to sew sleep hats.

If you're able to help with any of the above, send an email to april@chemocargo.org.

Thanks to everyone who has helped get this going!
